In addition to antioxidant effects, vitamin C plays an important role in many metabolic processes, including vitamin E recycling, collagen biosynthesis, and, in particular, immune system function. Most farm animal species can endogenously synthesize sufficient vitamin C. However, this is not the case in very young animals (e.g. chicks and newborn piglets) or those exposed to challenging conditions such as heat stress and weaning. In fish and shrimp, vitamin C is a fundamental nutrient that must be supplied in the diet.
Usual vitamin C supplements are very unstable when exposed to heat and light, and therefore are not recommended for pelleted or extruded feed. C-Power® is a 100% natural food antioxidant for all species. It is composed of plants that contain vitamin C analogues (gallotannins) that are highly stable and effective, as well as other natural antioxidants with up to 6 times more antioxidant capacity. The composition of C-Power® guarantees sustained bioactivity and excellent efficacy to combat oxidative stress.
